Get to know Eric, a Massage Therapist who has experienced the benefits of massage first-hand and is committed to making massage more accessible by bringing the benefits of clinical massage to the comfort of your home or office.
When it comes to being a good massage therapist, it helps to have experienced pain and tension in your own body. As a very busy and active individual, I have spent the past decade performing a wide variety of manual labor as well as dedicating many hours to running. As a result, I've experienced my fair share of injuries and have learned the hard way that self-care is absolutely essential. My own experience with pain makes me uniquely qualified to help my clients manage pain in the shoulders, wrists, hips, legs, and feet.

my values +
mission
Massage therapy is much more than just a job for me -- massage has genuinely provided me with life-changing relief and I really enjoy helping others on their path to finding similar relief. I will continually educate myself in the search for better techniques to provide relief.
As someone who has performed intense manual labor in the past and who has experienced what it's like to have a full schedule without much time for rest and relaxation, you can rest assured that I will always respect your limited time and strive to give you the greatest possible relief in our short time together.
On a more personal level, I'm probably one of the most relaxed, easy-going, and down-to-Earth people that you will meet. In all areas of my life, I genuinely strive to make things as peaceful and light-hearted as possible. This aspect of my personality shines through in my work life in the form of easy online booking, leaving plenty of time before and after your appointment blocked off to avoid making you feel rushed, and the ability to find common topics to talk and laugh about if you are in the mood to socialize during your session.
Relaxed + Easy-going
I am relaxed, easy-going, and one of the most down-to-Earth people you'll meet.
Chill or Social
Depending on your mood, we can chat and laugh or embrace the quiet.
Genuine
Not looking to get rich. I prefer to work within a budget for long lasting clients.
Manual Labor
As a manual laborer, I can relate to the stress caused by long term repetition of actions.
my experience
Education and experience are both essential components that enable professionals to provide higher-quality pain management treatment plans; unfortunately, it's difficult to find one person who has both. For example, when we go to a medical doctor we're standing in front of a person that likely has more education than anyone else that we will meet in our lifetime, but often times they can't fully relate to our experience with pain due to the fact that their extensive educational background hasn't subjected their bodies to the types of repetitive stresses that many laborers have experienced. As a result, many doctor visits where pain management is the main topic are often frustrating and unproductive.
My goal as a massage therapist is to bridge this gap between experience and education so that I can offer you scientifically sound advice that is relevant to the realities of your day-to-day activities. You can rest assured that I believe you when you say that you're in pain, and often times I can relate to the specific pain that you're feeling. You can also rest assured that I am constantly working to further my education in order to find more practical ways to help you to feel better. You'll be hard-pressed to find another massage therapist as passionate about finding new ways to help you to feel better.
eric's Massage
philosophy
My massage services are both effective and soothing. I find a balance between providing the lasting benefits of a Deep Tissue massage along with the feeling of relaxation that comes with a Swedish massage. In other words, I am able to respond to your muscles in a manner that releases tension and creates positive outcomes without causing pain.
My journey to finding massage therapy has been a stubborn one full of hard lessons learned and constant pivoting in hopes of finding a more balanced lifestyle. In 2013, I dropped out of college at UC Davis to enter the workforce because I didn't see the benefit of getting an education at the time. From 2013-2017, I performed intense labor in a metal plating factory without realizing the toll that repetitive stress would take on my body.
By 2017, I was experiencing so much shoulder, wrist, and upper back pain that I quit my job at the plating factory to go and work for a local moving company. Once again, I never stopped to consider the ways in which this type of labor would impact my body. Ultimately, a year of moving resulted in debilitating plantar fasciitis which led me to my next job at a Dr. Pepper facility where I mixed chemicals, water, and sugar to make soft drinks. While this job was more fulfilling and did less harm to my body, I ultimately ended up mentally and physically exhausted after too many hours worked with not enough time off.

origin back
story
At this point, I came across an ad for massage school -- "make your own schedule and have work you love". I was sold! Ironically, I was sold mostly because of the ability to have a flexible schedule that would allow me to get back to finishing my bachelor's degree, and not because I thought massage would be good for me or my customers. In this way, you could say that massage found me by total coincidence.
After a few months of massage school, I fell in love with the benefits that I was experiencing. My time in massage school helped me to address painful areas in my body that multiple doctors refused to even acknowledge existed over the years. The ability of massage to relieve painful areas that I thought would never get better ultimately reshaped my entire approach to life.
Certified Therapist
I fell in love with the benefits of massage and continue expanding my education.
Educational Goals
I am working to finish my bachelor's degree at UC Davis so that I can apply to a Chiropractic school.
I Understand Pain
I'm constantly looking into how my clients and I can benefit from massage to help manage our pain.
My Passion
Massage Therapy has reshaped my entire approach to life and will be a part of my future.
my journey
Since finishing massage school, I've slowed down a lot and I think a lot more holistically about the choices that I make and the ways that I spend my energy. I now strive to find ways to help myself and others find relief before the pain and tension develop into a full-blown crisis. So far, this lifestyle change has been great for me. Since finishing my education to become a massage therapist, I have worked in both chiropractic and spa settings as well as taking many continuing education courses in massage therapy. I am now a Neuromuscular Massage Therapist and I am working to finish my bachelor's degree at UC Davis so that I can apply to a Chiropractic school in the future. Ultimately, I'm the best choice for your massage therapy needs because massage isn't just another job for me. This is just the beginning of a lifelong passion to help myself and others to find more practical ways to feel better.

Over the years, I have spent a lot of time disc golfing. While I don't get out as often as I used to, I'd be happy to help you find a course nearby if it's something that interests you.
Anthropology
I'm currently majoring in Cultural Anthropology at UC Davis. The courses that I take there have given me a unique perspective on current events and its something that I'm always happy to chat about if it interests you.
cat Dad
Growing up, I never cared much for cats, but now I have two amazing young cats at home. They're very loving and entertaining and I enjoy having them around!
Gardening
I've been helping with my apartment complex's community garden for the past few years which has been a fun learning experience. Always happy to chat about gardening and usually have veggies to share.
I was born in Sacramento in April 1994 and despite the expectation that we should move away from the city where we were born -- I'm still here! I won't lie and say that everything has always been great for me in Sacramento, but every time that I have considered moving I simply can't find another city that compares. Throughout my life, I've worked, lived, attended schools, and commuted all around the Greater Sacramento area This includes Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, Carmichael, Arden-Arcade, North Highlands, Antelope, Rio Linda, North Sacramento, West Sacramento, Natomas, Land Park, Midtown, East Sacramento, Elk Grove, Davis, and even Woodland. I probably missed some important neighborhoods, but you get the idea. I know this area very well. If you're new to the Greater Sacramento Area, feel free to pick my brain!
